Val'utility legal information
Return Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Val'utility is primarily a digital Warranty and service. This page explains the return and recovery rules for Val'utility-owned recovery technology.
1. Recovery technology ownership
The approved recovery technology remains Val’utility’s property before and after installation, cancellation or termination. You do not purchase it. Any different arrangement must be expressly agreed in a written amendment to your Warranty agreement.
2. While the Warranty is active
The customer must:
- allow lawful installation, testing, maintenance, repair and replacement;
- keep the vehicle reasonably available for required work;
- not tamper with, disable, obstruct, remove or interfere with the technology;
- follow reasonable operating instructions; and
- report a known device, power, connectivity or monitoring problem promptly.
3. When the Warranty ends
Val’Utility may arrange lawful deactivation and authorised removal. The customer must cooperate with reasonable appointment and access arrangements. If Val’Utility chooses to retrieve the technology after cancellation, authorised personnel do so at Val’Utility’s cost. This does not create a cancellation penalty or technology cost recovery charge.
A normally installed device does not need to be returned by courier unless Val'utility provides specific instructions.
4. Condition, damage and access
Any allegation of tampering, damage, obstruction or exceptional access cost must be investigated and supported by evidence before a customer is charged.
Normal wear, authorised removal and a device failure not caused by the customer are not treated as customer damage. Val'utility will not use unlawful entry or self-help to recover a device.
5. Return support
Return and device-removal queries may be sent to support@valutility.co.za.
