Cookie Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

This policy explains the cookies, browser storage, aggregate measurement and external resources used by the Val'utility marketing website.

Cookies are small pieces of information that a website may ask a browser to keep. Similar browser technologies include local storage, session storage and browser databases. They can support website functions, remember preferences or, when added, measure and track website use.

Cookies

This marketing website does not set first-party or third-party cookies. Its aggregate counter does not set cookies or use browser storage.

Local browser storage

The website checks local storage for a setting named valutility-theme to support a saved display-theme preference. A clean visit did not create this setting, and the current public pages do not provide a theme-preference control. If a value is stored, local storage keeps it until it is changed or cleared in the browser; it does not have a fixed expiry date.

Necessary and optional use

No cookies are required to read the public website. The theme setting is functional browser storage. The first-party aggregate counter described below uses no cookies or visitor identifiers. Advertising, remarketing and individual visitor tracking are not used.

We use a first-party counter hosted with this website to understand how the public pages, application links and depreciation calculator are used. It records daily totals for page views, application-link clicks and specified calculator actions, grouped by the page, link placement and a broad arrival category: direct, search, social, internal or other.

The counter does not set cookies, store a visitor identifier, or use local or session storage. Its event payload does not contain your name, contact details, vehicle details, calculator inputs, full referring address or URL query parameters. The counter stores aggregate totals, not an individual event history, and does not store IP addresses or user-agent strings. Ordinary hosting and network processing is separate from this counter.

The collector keeps a rolling 90-day window of daily totals and removes older entries when it next accepts an event. Counts are held in a private file outside the public website directory. A click to the separate application is counted as a link click, not as an application, quotation or activated Warranty. These totals do not identify unique people or connect a marketing visit to a customer record.

A visitor's browser may request resources directly from the providers below. A remote request does not by itself mean that the provider has set a cookie. No cookies were observed from these resources during the verification for this policy.

  • Google Fonts: supplies the Inter and Playfair Display font files used by the website.
  • Unsplash: supplies selected editorial images used on public pages.
  • Hostinger: hosts the current public website and supplies selected image resources through its content-delivery network.
  • Supabase: receives Contact-form data only when a visitor chooses to submit the form. Normal page visits do not create a Supabase browser session or contact-service request.

Links to the separate Val'utility application and to external article sources do not load those services inside this website. If you follow one of those links, the destination website's own privacy and storage practices apply.

Apart from the first-party aggregate counter described above, the marketing website does not include analytics or individual visitor-tracking services. It does not include advertising or remarketing tags, chat widgets, embedded maps, embedded video, social embeds, CAPTCHA services, consent-management software, session storage, IndexedDB, service workers or application authentication storage.

Most browsers allow you to view and remove cookies and site data. Clearing this website's local storage removes any saved theme value that may be present. Browser menus and wording differ, so consult your browser's help information for the steps that apply to your device.

Any future advertising, individual visitor tracking, third-party analytics or optional browser-storage technology requires a separate implementation decision, a Privacy and Legal review, and an update to this policy before it is introduced.

Read the Privacy Policy for information about personal information. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@valutility.co.za.
